Getting a circumcision has numerous health benefits. Many cultures and religions which carry out routine circumcisions do so because of the hygiene and cleanliness resulting from the procedure.

There exist numerous studies which show the benefits of reduced STDs (Sexually transmitted disease) such as HPV, HIV, and other bacteria in both men and women.

Penile cancer occurs in predominantly in uncircumcised men and research suggests that there may be a potential link with hygiene in the area as well.

Various studies also state that there may be more sexual arousal in those men with a circumcised penis as there is more stimulation resulting from less foreskin. Some studies disagree with this viewpoint however it is best left for the individual to decide if this is a benefit or not.

It is estimated that around 80% of men in the US are circumcised for some or all of the reasons above, but mainly hygiene.
